MERCHANT
REBATES
HELP
GROW
CARD
PORTFOLIOS
AND
INCREASE
REVENUE
Many
Fleet
Card
providers
have
found
that
they
can
increase
revenue
by
supporting
merchants’
rebate
programs
designed
to
attract
and
retain
fleet
operators.
Handling
rebate
programs
is
easy
with
CoreREBATES,
new
software
functionality
that
integrates
seamlessly
with
processing
systems
running
CoreACQUIRE
and
CoreISSUE
for
Fleet.
Merchant
rebate
programs
for
fleet
operators
are
similar
to
traditional
card
“Loyalty”
programs.
Loyalty
programs
reward
fleet
cardholders
for
charging
purchases
at
specific
locations.
Rebate
programs
help
merchants
build
additional
fleet
operator
traffic
at
their
various
locations
by
allowing
merchants
to
offer
special
discounts
paid
in
the
form
of a
rebate
to
participating
fleet
operators.
With
CoreREBATES,
CoreACQUIRE
collects
fleet
operator
data
at
the
time
of
authorization.
Upon
completion
of
the
transaction,
CoreACQUIRE
passes
the
rebate
data
to
CoreISSUE
for
further
processing
and
settlement
Rebates
may
be
based
on a
number
of
variables
such
as:
-
Product type, i.e., gas or diesel
-
Gallons of fuel purchased
-
Dollar value of sale
-
Day and time of purchase
Traditionally
limited
to
fuel
purchases,
Fleet
Card
processors
using
CoreREBATES
can
now
enable
merchants
to
offer
rebates
on
any
type
of
product
they
sell,
supporting
their
efforts
to
attract
and
retain
fleet
operators
and
build
fleet
traffic
at
specific
store
locations.
With
CoreREBATES,
when
a
merchant
agrees
to
offer
a
special
rebate
for
sales
of
specific
goods
or
services,
the
Fleet
Card
provider
sets
the
program
up
in
CoreREBATES.
When
a
fleet
operator
makes
a
qualifying
purchase,
the
amount
of
the
rebate
due
to
the
fleet
operator
is
deducted
from
the
merchant
remittance
and
paid
directly
to
the
fleet
operator.
Payments
to
fleet
operators
can
be
made
using
a
variety
of
methods
and
intervals,
such
as:
Settlement
with
the
fleet
operator
may
be
on a
weekly,
monthly,
or
quarterly
basis.
