| For the healthcare industry, CoreISSUE’s plan segments act as “purses,” which are ways to separate and control funds at the plan level for various purposes. One purse may be a Health Savings Account and another purse may be set up for prescription drugs, while a third purse may be used as a Flexible Spending Account. |

| A “Purse Table” is used to define which purses a cardholder is eligible for and what data elements on the incoming authorization should be used to match it to a purse. A flexible set of purse rules are used to identify both a primary and a secondary purse to which a purchase authorization can match. This allows an incoming authorization that exceeds the available balance on the cardholder’s primary plan to use the available balance on a second plan to post the purchase transaction against. An unlimited number of plan segments per account are allowed. Each plan (purse) is unique and represents a separate balance. |
